David gave a presentation at the 2025 Architect's Journal Retrofit Live conference about circular construction in our project for the S.M.A.K. Museum of Contemporary Art in Ghent, Belgium. Under the rubric of Jiujitsu Urbanism, David described taking the existing materials and context of a site and using them as a quarry for the creation of something new. ‘The energy is already there, coming to you, and your role as an architect is to redeploy it.’ Read the write up of the conference and David's contribution on the Architect's Journal website here.
