David Kohn Architects is a London-based practice working across the fields of architecture, urbanism and design. Past projects include a rooftop pavilion for the Architecture Foundation, a restaurant at the Royal Academy of Arts, a London gallery and Norfolk house for gallerist Stuart Shave and an urban design strategy for Deptford Creek in collaboration with Design for London. Ongoing projects include a community arts centre for the Olympic Park Legacy Company and a rooftop installation in collaboration with Fiona Banner for Living Architecture, Artangel and South Bank.
We aim to achieve excellence in design through creative dialogue with our clients, consultant teams, contractors and end users. Architectural innovation is cultivated in the office through research into materials, construction techniques and the cultural context of each project.
The practice has built a reputation for its design, winning the 2010 One-Off House Architect of the Year and the 2009 Young Architect of the Year. The restaurant at the Royal Academy of Arts received a D&AD Yellow Pencil Award in 2009 and was nominated for a 2011 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.
